TWO to THREE people needed to line up swimmers in the correct lane and heat for their race. You will learn swimmers names and help to round them up. Coaches may help with this task. Swimmers will line up 3-4 heats before their race. For the younger swimmers, mark the lane and heat on the back of the swimmer’s hand.
For these positions, just show up at the meet and check in at the table!
Each lane has three timers. Each timer starts the stopwatch with the flash of the starter and stops the stopwatch when any part of the swimmers' body touches the wall at the end of the event. One of the timers will record all three times on a sheet and circle the middle time.
Runners take the recorded sheets from the timers back to the automation table, where times are recorded on the computer.
